Columbus, Ohio (June 16, 2009) - The Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) welcomes its newest intern, Rebecca Schultz. Schultz will be working with the Public and Media Relations Department until late August. She will be responsible for writing feature articles and news releases, assisting with OSBA public programs and updating media contact information.

Schultz, raised in Mission Viejo, California, is currently an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University (OSU), majoring in Communications and pursuing a minor in Theater. She is also the third baseman for The OSU varsity softball team, which completed its best season this year, finishing among the top 16 teams in the country. She will graduate in 2010, and, using the knowledge and experience gained through this internship, will pursue a career in law.

“The OSBA hosts interns on a regular basis,” said Ken Brown, director of Public & Media Relations. “Our internships provide students with an opportunity to see how an in-house public relations department operates, and they afford those interested in legal careers with an insight into the profession as well. It’s a win-win for everyone. We get some much needed assistance along with fresh perspectives, while students gain valuable on-the-job experience.”

The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary association that represents approximately 25,000 members of the bench and bar of Ohio as well as 4,000 legal assistants and law students. Through its activities and the activities of its related organizations, the OSBA serves Ohio by promoting the highest standards in the practice of law and administration of justice.
