Columbus, OH (July 7, 2009) – Attorney C. Keith Plummer has been elected to serve a three-year term as District 15 representative on the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA). District 15 includes 167 attorneys who reside and practice in Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson and Monroe counties.
Plummer, a Cambridge attorney, was elected to his new post by area lawyers at an OSBA district meeting several months ago. He succeeds retiring District 15 representative, David J. Scarpone of Steubenville, whose term concluded June 30.
The 21-member Board of Governors meets monthly to manage the association’s business affairs, set policy, review pending legislation and conduct other business on behalf of the 25,000 Ohio lawyers who are OSBA members.
Plummer earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his law degree from Capital University Law School. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business relationships and transactions, estate planning and elder law, commercial law, and personal injury litigation. An active OSBA member, he is also a member of the Guernsey County Bar Association and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association. In the community, Plummer is a member of the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce and has been a fundraiser for the Cambridge YMCA.
The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary association representing approximately 25,000 members of the bench and bar of Ohio as well as nearly 4,000 legal assistants and law students. Through its activities and the activities of its related organizations, the OSBA serves both its members and the public by promoting the highest standards in the practice of law and the administration of justice.
