COLUMBUS (Sept. 21, 2009) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Youngstown on Wednesday, Sept. 30 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession, and to honor David C. Comstock of Poland and Lawrence W. Stacey of Columbiana for their 50 years of service to the legal profession. E. Donna Cherrill of Youngstown will be honored for her 65 years of service.
Barbara Howard, 2009-2010 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 13 at The Youngstown Club (201 East Commerce Street, Youngstown). OSBA District 13 includes 502 members who practice in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
James E. Roberts, District 13 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of two members to the OSBA Council of Delegates. Scott R. Cochran, Mahoning County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.
Following the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.0-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Advance seminar/lunch registration is $73 for OSBA members and $88 for non-members; seminar-only registration is $50 for members and $60 for non-members; lunch-only registration is $23 for members and $28 for non-members. After Sept. 23, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
