West Union attorney to receive honor for 50 years in practice

COLUMBUS (Sept. 21, 2009) - The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Ironton on Friday, Oct. 2 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor attorney Charles H. Wilson of West Union for 50 years in practice. Albany resident Trecia Kimes-Brown will receive the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under.

Barbara Howard, 2009-2010 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 8 Austyn’s Ironton (124 Bobby Bare Blvd., Ironton).  OSBA District 8 includes 352 members who practice in Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton counties. 

Mark K. McCown, District 8 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of one member to the OSBA Council of Delegates.  Robert C. Delawder, Lawrence County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks.  OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.

Following the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m.  Advance seminar/lunch registration for OSBA members is $80 and $95 for non-members; seminar-only registration is $60 for members and $70 for non-members; lunch-only registration is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.  After Sept. 25, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
