How are juveniles tried as adults?

A horrific assault on a 15-year-old victim outside a California high school on Oct. 24 is dominating national headlines as police continue to investigate and find out exactly what occurred.

According to investigators, several juveniles were involved and arrests have been made. Because of the serious and violent nature of the crime, many are wondering will the juvenile offenders be tried as adults?
