OSBA Paralegal Certification Program

The Ohio State Bar Association has established a credentialing program for paralegals. Individuals meeting the eligibility requirements and passing a written examination will be designated as an “OSBA Certified Paralegal.” Click here to download the program brochure.


The committee meetings occur during the spring, fall and winter. The fall and winter meetings are generally on Saturdays at 9:30 a.m in Columbus. Spring meetings are held during the OSBA Annual Convention. For a schedule, please call the OSBA Bar Services Department at (800) 282-6556, or e-mail

All members receive the Paralegal News newsletter. Published three times per year, it contains information pertinent to your job responsibilities, as well as other news about your profession and the OSBA. Associate members also receive Ohio Lawyer magazine as well as the weekly OSBA Report Online through e-mail.

CLE benefit

As a benefit of membership, paralegals can attend three OSBA continuing legal education (CLE) courses per year free of charge (some limits apply). This access to the substantial legal curriculum offered by the OSBA CLE Institute provides associate members and the attorneys for whom they work a greater ability to serve their clients.
