Columbus, OHIO (Nov. 14, 2012) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Toledo on Thursday, Nov. 29 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor senior lawyers from the Toledo area.
Joseph P. Jordan, Thomas A. Meehan and Philip M. Rice of Toledo, Arthur F. Raker of Perrysburg and James P. Silk of Sylvania will be recognized for their 50 years of service to the legal profession. Judge John W. Potter of Toledo will be recognized for his 65 years in practice. Nicole I. Khory of Toledo will receive the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under.
Judge Patrick F. Fischer, 2012-2013 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 4 at The Toledo Club (235 14th Street, Toledo). OSBA District 4 includes 1,290 members who practice in Lucas, Ottawa and Sandusky counties.
Judge James D. Jensen, District 4 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, and Michael J. Todak, Toledo Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks. The meeting will include the election of five members to the OSBA Council of Delegates. OSBA members may attend the meeting at no charge.
Following the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Advance registration for the lunch/CLE seminar is $97 for OSBA members and $117 for non-members; seminar only is $70 for members and $85 for non-members; lunch only is $27 for members and $32 for non-members. After Nov. 22, $25 will be added to the registration fee.
