COLUMBUS (Oct. 18, 2012) - The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Waverly on Wednesday, Nov. 7 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession. Also, Josh D. Howard of McDermott will receive the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under.
Judge Patrick F. Fischer, 2012-2013 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 8 at the Lake White Club (1166 State Route 552, Waverly). OSBA District 8 includes 357 members who practice in Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton counties.
Thomas Todd Book, District 8 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of one member to the OSBA Council of Delegates.
Following the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Advance seminar/lunch registration is $90 for OSBA members and $110 for non-members; seminar-only registration is $70 for members and $85 for non-members; lunch-only registration is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. After Oct. 31, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
