Columbus, OHIO (Nov. 13, 2012) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Springfield on Tuesday, Nov. 27 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor members of the profession.
Judge Patrick F. Fischer, 2012-2013 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 6 at the Courtyard by Marriott (100 S. Fountain Ave., Springfield). OSBA District 6 includes 480 members who practice in Champaign, Clark, Fayette, Greene, Logan, Madison and Union counties.
Hugh Barnett of Springfield, James A. Kiger of Washington Court House and Joseph P. Valore of Urbana will be recognized for their 50 years of service to the profession. Judge Thomas J. Grady, District 6 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of one member to the OSBA Board of Governors and two members to the OSBA Council of Delegates. Andrew H. Elder, Clark County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.
Before the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, optional continuing legal education (CLE) seminars will be offered from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a total of 2.5 CLE credit hours (registration and continental breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m.). Advance seminar/lunch registration is $92 for OSBA members and $112 for non-members; seminar registration only is $70 for members and $85 for non-members; lunch only is $22 for members and $27 for non-members. After Nov. 20, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
