OSBA president to honor senior lawyers

Columbus, OHIO (Nov. 14, 2012) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Ottawa on Wednesday, Nov. 28 to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to recognize Evelyn Huber Bachman of Bowling Green for her 50 years of service to the profession. Also, Jennifer N. Brown of Defiance will be presented with the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under. 
Judge Patrick F. Fischer, 2012-2013 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 3 at the Red Pig Inn (1470 N. Perry St., Ottawa). OSBA District 3 includes 510 members who practice in Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, Williams and Wood counties.
James K. Weaner, District 3 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of one member to the OSBA Council of Delegates and one member to the OSBA Board of Governors. Lee R. Schroeder, president of the Putnam Country Bar Association, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.
Prior to the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 9:00  to 11:30 a.m. (registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m.). Advance seminar/lunch registration is $90 for OSBA members and $110 for non-members; seminar-only registration is $70 for members and $85 for non-members; lunch-only registration is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. After Nov. 21, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.
