State bar president to address area lawyers

COLUMBUS (Mar. 6, 2013) -
The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Logan on Friday, March 21, to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession.

Dayton attorney Jonathan Hollingsworth, 2013-2014 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 17 at Hocking Hills Golf Club (14405 Country Club Lane, Logan). OSBA District 17 includes 199 members who practice in Athens, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Noble and Washington counties. 

Thomas H. Gerken, District 17 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the noon luncheon meeting. Timothy P. Gleeson, president of the Hocking County Bar Association, will deliver welcoming remarks.

Before the luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. Advance luncheon registration is $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers and free for young lawyers. Advance seminar registration is $75 for members (including young lawyers) and $95 for nonmembers. After March 14, $25 will be added to the total registration fee.

The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary association representing approximately 25,000 members of the bench and bar of Ohio as well as nearly 4,000 legal assistants and law students.
