Columbus, OHIO (Sept. 25, 2013) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Geneva-on-the-Lake on Wednesday, Oct. 9, to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor area attorneys.
Jonathan Hollingsworth, 2013-2014 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 18 at the Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva State Park (4888 State Highway 534, Geneva-on-the-Lake). OSBA District 18 includes 652 members who practice in Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull counties.
Robert R. Wantz of Chardon will be recognized for his 50 years of service to the profession. Matthew W. Rolf will be presented with the Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Awards for Attorneys 40 and Under.
David J. Sternberg, District 18 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which begins at noon and will include the election of two members to the OSBA Council of Delegates. Nicholas A. Iarocci, president of the Ashtabula County Bar Association, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.
Before the luncheon meeting and recognition, optional continuing legal education (CLE) seminars will be offered from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for a total of 2.5 CLE credit hours (registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m.). Advance seminar registration is $70 for OSBA members and $85 for non-members; lunch is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. After Oct. 2, $25 will be added to the total registration fee. The OSBA Young Lawyers Section invites all local young lawyers (age 36 or younger or in practice for five years or less) to attend the annual district luncheon for free, with registration completed by the early registration deadline.
