Columbus, OHIO (Sept. 24, 2013) – The president of the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) will visit Youngstown on Tuesday, Oct. 8, to speak to area attorneys about current issues facing the legal profession and to honor senior lawyers.
Jonathan Hollingsworth, 2013-2014 OSBA president, will address the annual luncheon meeting of OSBA District 13 at the Youngstown Country Club (1402 Country Club Drive, Youngstown). OSBA District 13 includes 462 members who practice in Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
Jackman S. Vodrey of East Liverpool will be recognized for his 50 years of service to the legal profession. George P. Millich of Youngstown will be presented with an Ohio State Bar Foundation Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under.
Joseph L. Ludovici, District 13 representative on the OSBA Board of Governors, will preside over the meeting, which will include the election of two members to the OSBA Council of Delegates and one member to the OSBA Board of Governors. Edward J. Hartwig, Mahoning County Bar Association president, will deliver welcoming remarks. OSBA members are welcome to attend the business meeting at no charge.
Following the noon luncheon meeting and recognition, an optional 2.5-hour continuing legal education (CLE) seminar will be offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Advance seminar registration is $70 for OSBA members and $85 for non-members; lunch registration is $27 for members and $32 for non-members. After Oct. 1, $25 will be added to the total registration fee. The OSBA Young Lawyers Section invites all local young lawyers (age 36 or younger or in practice for five years or less) to attend the annual district luncheon at no charge, with registration completed by the early registration deadline.
