Ohio State Bar Association 2011 iPad2 Giveaway: Official Contest Rules

Prize to be awarded:
One (1) Apple iPad2 to be awarded. Included with iPad is: dock connector to USB cable, 10W USB power adapter.


Total value of prize is $499.00.

  • The winner will be announced after 2,000 Facebook followers are registered.
  • No substitutions of prizes may be made.

 How to play:

  • No purchase necessary.
  • Must be 18 or older to enter and win.
  • Must be a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
  • Must click “Like” and follow Ohio State Bar Association’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ohiobar.

Eligibility and participation:
No purchase or other valuable consideration required to participate. Void where prohibited by law.

Individuals must be 18 years or older as of March 14, 2011, to be eligible.


Employees and their immediate families or persons living in their households, of the Ohio State Bar Association and its affiliates are not eligible to enter or win.


Award of Prizes and Restrictions:
By entering the contest in the manner described above, or by claiming the prizes, all participants agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules. All entries become the property of the Ohio State Bar Association.

The prize winner is subject to verification. Verification will be by confirmation of the winner’s address, telephone number, and date of birth. Prizes may not be assigned or transferred.


By entering this contest in the manner described above or by claiming a prize, all participants agree, to the greatest extent allowed by law, to release the Ohio State Bar Association from any and all liability arising from any injury, death, loss or damage of any kind resulting from or in connection with any entry and/or participation in this contest, or the award, acceptance, possession, use and/or misuse of any prize.

The prize winner grants the Ohio State Bar Association and its affiliates, full and unlimited permission to use the prize winner’s personality, including the prize winner’s name, likenesses, and voices for promotion and publicity purposes, including all advertising, promotions and features without further compensation. As a condition of winning, prize winner agrees to make him or herself available to the Ohio State Bar Association for interviews, photographs and video recording.

The prize winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes due in connection with the prize. The prize winner will be required to fill out a 1099 tax form, which will be forwarded to the IRS.

The Ohio State Bar Association will have no liability or responsibility for or related to the prizes and there are no warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, applicable to the contest or the prize.

If the prize winner is not able to claim his or her prize, or if the announced prize winner is determined to be an ineligible participant, then in any such case the Ohio State Bar Association shall declare the prize forfeited,  and an alternative winner will be selected.

The decisions of the Ohio State Bar Association, concerning any and all matters with respect to the iPad Giveaway and the awarding of the prize shall be final. The Ohio State Bar Association will not be responsible for lost, stolen, damaged or incomplete entries, for any electronic entries that are lost, stolen, damaged, incomplete, misdirected, deleted, late, delayed or garbled by any computer, Internet or network transmission, or as a result of any human error, equipment or programming associated with, or utilized, in this contest or the processing of any entries, or for any telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind.


The Ohio State Bar Association reserves the right to disqualify any contestant tampering with the operation or conduct of the contest.


The Ohio State Bar Association reserves the final judgment on all matters pertaining to this contest including the right to change or modify the rules, or to cancel or extend the contest without prior notice.

Any dispute that may arise regarding this contest is governed by the law of the state of Ohio and the exclusive forum for resolving any dispute related to the contest is in Franklin County, Ohio.
