The OSBA’s Internet-based Silent Partner program is designed to connect experienced OSBA members with other attorney members—but especially new or young attorneys—who are seeking assistance with substantive law questions or balancing the personal and professional demands of the practice. #7: Legislative resources

Our government relations staff works every day with legislators and other state policy leaders on behalf of Ohio State Bar Association members to promote improvement of the law, our legal system and the administration of justice.

We are responsible for advocating for substantive law and rule changes proposed by OSBA members. We also continuously monitor legislative and government activities that may be of interest to you. Click here for more info.

#5: Committees and sections

Business peopleIf you are not an active, contributing member of any of the Ohio State Bar Association’s 40 committees and 10 sections, you are missing out on a lot of valuable information. Just as important, the committees and sections are missing out, too.

By becoming involved in a committee or section, you can make a difference in the legal profession and in your community, as well as gain valuable resources and insights. Committee and section members review pending legislation, draft legislative proposals and develop projects and programs designed to improve the legal system in Ohio. #2: OSBA Report

OSBA Report onlineThe OSBA Report keeps Ohio State Bar Association members current on Ohio case law. Members can get the latest Supreme Court updates, quickly browse article previews, read news that impacts their areas of practice and browse classified advertisements.

The OSBA Report daily email features cases summarized, categorized and posted Monday through Friday—within two business days from the original posting on the Supreme Court of Ohio website. This means the case summaries are available up to six weeks sooner than the weekly print version.
