OSBA Digital Publications

The Ohio State Bar Association represents more than 24,000 Ohio lawyers and judges, approximately 65 percent of Ohio law practitioners. Total membership is about 31,000, which includes paralegal/legal assistant and law student associate members.

The OSBA’s core purpose, as specified in our mission statement, is “to advance the professional interests of members of the Ohio State Bar Association.” Through our surveys, it is clear legal professionals throughout Ohio are embracing new technologies in their legal practices in increasing numbers. The OSBA has a solid base of digital products, and will continue to monitor the horizon for new services to continue fulfilling this mission statement.


The OSBA adheres to the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s (IAB) interactive advertising units. The IAB specifies standardized sizes for digital ads, known as IMUs (interactive marketing units). This helps streamline our advertisers’ efforts, while allowing us to design our digital member services to accommodate advertisers’ needs. We make every attempt to design our new media to display your message to our readers in a pleasing and informative format. Being there when and where the information is needed is key to our servicing the legal profession of Ohio.

OSBA Website

As a growing tool for our members, Ohiobar.org is a valuable resource for the legal community of Ohio. The OSBA website offers information and services to both the public and to our members. Our members look to our site for OSBA news and events, online legal research, discussion lists, CLE information and offerings, career tips and updates, specialized newsletters, and current and past issues of Ohio Lawyer® and the OSBA Report®, as well as legal news. Our members also use our site as a source to purchase legal materials and practice aids, for membership information and benefits, and for services offered by advertisers. The public uses our site for consumer legal guidance, legal news and to find attorneys.

​Ohiobar.org is the OSBA’s state-of-the-art website drawing more than 164,000 visitors each month, where members and the public can access legal news, member benefits, discussion lists, publications and other areas of legal information. All OSBA members have access to the full OSBA website. The public has access to the public side of the website only, which offers everything on the member site with the exception of member benefits, such as member publications and discounts. Ohiobar.org offers online CLE, a daily version of the OSBA Report, Casemaker, electronic discussion lists, legislative updates and news that affects the Ohio legal community.

To show the OSBA’s commitment to our digital efforts, we are proud to offer print advertisers a 20 percent discount on all advertising in our digital publications. A minimum contract for at least six ads annually in the OSBA Report® or at least three ads annually in Ohio Lawyer® is required.
