Columbus, OHIO (July 12, 2010) – William W. Henderson’s days as a solo legal practitioner are over now that his son, Kyle Chase Henderson, has joined him in his Hocking County law practice.
“My late father, Phil Henderson, was an attorney in Logan for more than 50 years,” William Henderson says. “So with the addition of my son to the bar, this will make three generations of my family that have practiced here.”
Kyle Henderson recently graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law and was one of 250 new attorneys sworn in May 10 during a public session of the Supreme Court of Ohio. He is excited about starting his new career. “So far, I have been making a lot of visits to the courthouse, and I have signed up to be a court-appointed defense attorney in Hocking and Vinton counties,” Kyle Henderson says. “I’m looking forward to learning from my dad and growing the practice.”
Henderson’s general practice law firm focuses on domestic relations and criminal defense cases. With the addition of Kyle, William Henderson hopes to expand the practice to begin handling bankruptcy cases. “In a small community during a struggling economy, we want to be as diverse as we can in what legal services we offer in order to meet clients’ needs.”
Kyle Henderson is looking forward to making a difference in the community. “During law school, I participated in the law clinic that gave me the opportunity to work with clients. I found it personally rewarding helping people solve their problems, so I am eager to do that for our clients in Southeastern Ohio.”
William Henderson has been a member of the Ohio State Bar Association for 30 years and recently finished a term as the representative on the Association’s Board of Governors for District 17, which includes Hocking, Athens, Morgan, Meigs, Noble and Washington counties. In the community, he is a member of the Hocking County Bar Association, he serves on the county’s board of elections and the board of developmental disabilities, and he is the vice chair of Hocking County Democratic Party. He graduated from Ohio Northern University and earned his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law.
Kyle Henderson is a 2001 graduate of Logan-Hocking High School, and he received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University.
The Ohio State Bar Association, founded in 1880, is a voluntary association representing approximately 25,000 members of the bench and bar of Ohio as well as nearly 4,000 legal assistants and law students. Through its activities and the activities of its related organizations, the OSBA serves both its members and the public by promoting the highest standards in the practice of law and the administration of justice.
