S. Kopp announced his candidacy for president-elect of the Ohio State
Bar Association. The election will take place at the Association’s
Annual Convention in Sandusky April 29 to May 1, 2015.
Ronald S. Kopp is a 35-year
practitioner who has spent his entire career in Akron and Cleveland
with Roetzel & Andress. Roetzel also has offices in Columbus,
Cincinnati, and Toledo, as well as six offices outside Ohio. Early in
his career, Kopp’s practice consisted of general litigation, including
product liability. For the past 20 years, though, he has focused almost
exclusively on business and intellectual property litigation. He has
served in various management positions with his firm, including having
chaired the Business Litigation and Business Services practice groups,
as well as heading the Akron office. Presently, he is the firm’s

and has been a member of the OSBA Litigation Section and Media Law
Committee. A past president of the Akron Bar Association, he has served
two terms on that association’s board of trustees. He currently is
serving as an ex-officio member on that board. He is a founding Fellow
and a past governor of the Akron Bar Association Foundation. He also is a
member of the American and Federal bar associations.
currently is board chair of Leadership Akron, which focuses on
community leadership throughout the greater Summit County area. He also
serves on the boards of the John S. Knight Memorial Journalism Fund and
the Welty Family Foundation. He is a past trustee on the boards of
United Disability Services, the Akron General Medical Center Foundation,
and the Summit County Historical Society. He is a past president of
Fairlawn Country Club.
Kopp was selected as one of the “Top Ten Ohio Lawyers” by Ohio Super Lawyers
magazine in 2010, and he has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Ohio
Lawyers” and “Top 50 Cleveland Lawyers” by that publication every year
since 2007. In 2014, he was named to “America’s Most Honored

don’t act together as a profession, others with different agendas will

continue the great work started by others, to make sure we continuously
improve, and to assure we advance our leadership as the top state bar
association in the country.”
