|Faruki Ireland & Cox P.L.L. (FI&C), a 35-attorney firm with offices in Cincinnati and Dayton, is the 2013 recipient of the Ohio Women's Bar Association’s (OWBA) Family Friendly Award.
Established in 2003, the Family Friendly Award honors those legal employers in Ohio who best exemplify the commitment to work-life balance arrangements and assure that lawyers can take care of their families and still pursue a successful career. The firm was recognized at the annual meeting of the OWBA on May 2, in Columbus, Ohio.
“It is our firm’s leadership that sets the tone for the creative thinking and unique commitment to promoting the firm’s employees in so many ways. At a time when financial constraints on the profession have some firms increasing the demands on employee time and cutting back on alternative work arrangements, FI&C has expanded its support of its employee talent. And the support is not just with part-time or remote-access working arrangements, it is also accommodating those employees with special needs and personal crises, above and beyond the legal requirements, that make this firm so deserving of this award. It is that level of support, personal commitment and friendship that make FI&C such a unique place to work,” said Ohio State Bar Association member Laura Sanom, FI&C Partner.
The OWBA is at the forefront of a profession-wide effort to promote meaningful alternative work arrangements in both private and public practice. They were formed in 1991, to build a community of lawyers who are interested in the issues that uniquely affect women. Their purpose is to promote the leadership, advancement and interests of women attorneys through professional education, networking and the exchange of ideas between members, local bar associations, businesses and the community.
