OSBA Real Property Section accepting nominations for Hausser Award

The OSBA Real Property section is accepting nominations for the Robert L. Hausser Memorial Award. The Hausser Award recognizes outstanding achievement, contribution, and leadership in the practice of real property law. The award is named in honor of Robert L. Hausser, a Marietta lawyer. Mr. Hausser was a founding member of the Ohio Bar Title Insurance Company and served as vice-president and member of its Board.

Mr. Hausser also served as chair of the Real Property section and was a member of other OSBA committees and sections. In addition to the second edition of Ohio Real Estate Law and Practice, Mr. Hausser produced three multi-volume treatises for West’s Ohio Practice Series: Real Property (1952-58), Real Estate Transactions (with William Van Aken, 1964), and Estate Planning and Probate Administration (with Allen B. Diefenbach, 1969). Between 1967 and 1990, Mr. Hausser edited Title Topics, the monthly journal of the Ohio Land Title Association. Mr. Hausser was also a Life Member of the Ohio State Bar Foundation.

The nominee must be a member of the OSBA. The nomination must be submitted by a third party on behalf of the nominee and be postmarked no later than April 5, 2013. The nomination should be sent (by email or regular mail) to the chair of the nomination committee:
