OSBA adds HR manager

Mary Amos Augsburger, executive director of the Ohio State Bar Association, announced the hiring of the organization’s first full time in-house human resource manager.

“To better serve the needs of our organization and our staff so they, in turn, can serve the needs of our members, we have added this important position to our organizational structure,” said Augsburger.

Elayna E. Keating of Westerville assumed the position of human resource manager on March 24. Keating is responsible for the day-to-day administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs. She implements HR programs including compensation and benefits administration, recruiting support, employment processing, records management and employment law compliance.

Prior to joining the OSBA, Keating served as an employee and labor relations consultant for The Ohio State University, director of human resources/legal counsel for Richland County Children Services, and as an associate attorney for Kelley & Ferraro, L.L.P in Cleveland as well as Rizor, Minnard & Rizor Co., L.P.A. in Lima.

Keating earned her law degree Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, and her undergraduate degree in criminology from The Ohio State University. She also earned the professional certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources.

Keating, originally from Lima, continues a family tradition in the legal profession, following her grandmother and father, both of whom were lawyers. Keating has a five-month-old daughter, Eliana.
