OSBA adds staff

Mary Amos Augsburger, executive director of the Ohio State Bar Association, announced several staff additions.

“We are welcoming three new staff members, whose expertise will help us better serve our members,” said Augsburger. “The aim of our reorganization has been to fully utilize existing staff while adding the necessary talent to move the association to the next level of service to our members.”

Desiree Blankenship joins the staff as its assistant general counsel. She will assist the OSBA’s general counsel in administering professional responsibility and unauthorized practice of law activities, as well as other matters related to the Association’s legal affairs. Blankenship comes to the OSBA from the Ohio Department of Commerce, where she served as chief legal counsel and as assistant director. Previously, she was deputy chief legal counsel for the Ohio Auditor of State. Blankenship earned her bachelor’s degree in English from The Ohio State University and her law degree from Capital University Law School. The 2008 recipient of the Ohio Auditor of State Distinguished Service Award, she currently serves on the board of the Capital Area Republican Women, and previously served on the board of Hope Street Kids.

Jing (Helen) He joins the staff as financial analyst and accountant. She will provide accounting services to the staff and leadership of the OSBA. Previously, she served as an accountant in fund accounting for Citigroup Inc., and, before that, as a senior accountant for China Customs and Border Protection in Hunan, China. She earned a bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in 1998, and a master of accounting degree from The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business, in 2011.

Michelle Stys joins the OSBA staff as manager of client success for one of OSBA’s for-profit affiliates, NDR4OSBA LLC. In this position, she will drive the OSBA’s participation in the proSHARE Network advertising services to increase the Association’s non-dues revenue. Stys most recently worked in public relations management and government auditing administration for the Auditor of State, and received the Auditor of State 2012 Distinguished Service Award for public service excellence. She earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in business administration from Cleveland State University.
