OSBA Report online wins national award

OSBA Report appThe OSBA Report online has been nationally recognized for excellence among state bar associations. The OSBA Report online won a 2012 National Association of Bar Executives (NABE) Luminary Award during the NABE Communications Workshop held in Denver, Colo.

The OSBA Report online is a case digest delivered in a daily or weekly format to more than 22,000 lawyers statewide. In selecting the e-publication for the award, judges noted, “The ability to customize the interaction with the Ohio State Bar, including the type and frequency of content received, is an amazing member benefit. The publication is easy to navigate and a pleasure to browse.”

OSBA President Judge Patrick F. Fischer offered, “The top reason OSBA Report online is so invaluable is that members can receive court cases up to six weeks earlier than the printed version that has been a mainstay of our publications since 1928. Our staff has worked very hard to update the publication and has earned this national recognition for the effort.”

In addition to legal case summaries, the OSBA Report online includes legal news, association events and job openings. A recent addition is a mobile app available for OSBA members who use Apple and Android devices.

NABE Communications Section’s Luminary Awards program was created in 1992 at the Communications Section workshop in Albuquerque and named for the New Mexican “luminaria.” Awards are given annually in the following categories: Publications, electronic publications, public relations, websites and marketing campaigns. Within each category, awards are given to small, medium and large bar associations.
