OSBAid update: More than 950 registrants respond to online drive to help cancer patient

On Oct. 19, 2012, we informed the Ohio State Bar Association community about the plight of cancer patient Kim Roper, wife of OSBA member James Roper. She will need to undergo intensive inpatient chemotherapy and will need a bone marrow transplant. Kim has no siblings and, as of today, there are no matches in the National Bone Marrow Registry.

Since then, more than 950 registrants joined the registry to help Kim and thousands like her. If you still have not joined the registry, the process is simple and quick. Follow this link, and join the registry with an easy home kit that involves no more than a cheek swab. When registering please use the promo code match4kim (all lower case letters). You can find more information about Kim’s battle, the Registry and donation process and even a printable flyer about bone marrow donation on Kim’s website: http://www.match4kim.com. If you have questions, please contact OSBAid moderator David Hejmanowski at osbaid@ohiobar.org.

OSBAid is a unique, member-led initiative mobilizing members of our legal community to help colleagues during their times of need. For more information, please visit www.ohiobar.org/osbaid.
